"If the children need milk, let us go into the stores and take it. If
families need bread, let us find out where the flour is stored and take
it!"

It is with these words that the great anarchist Emma Goldman is brought
to life on stage. Once known as 'the most dangerous woman in America',
Emma Goldman was despised by the government, hunted by the police, and a
threat to the bosses. Yet she never relented, and her powerful legacy
lives on today through her contributions to women's rights, labour
struggles, and the anarchist movement for freedom.

Reknowned popular historian and professor Howard Zinn has taken the
lengendary life of Emma Goldman and woven it into a beautiful play which
touches on the themes of class war, immigration, free love, propaganda by
the deed, and solidarity.

WeNous adapted this play to our own desires and needs. This is not a play
to be missed!

WeNous is a Montreal collective of creative thinkers, amateur actors,
anarchists, and people who want to infuse a bit more beauty into what we
know as revolution. We haved produced this play in a horizontal, organic
fashion, with no bosses, managers, or directors - just the way we think
anarchy should, and does work! We all play Emma throughout the
play, because there is a little bit of Emma in all of us. This is not a
play about an icon, but a moment to reflect on our implications and ways
to do things, for social change as well as in all of our lives.
